Tassels aren’t just for the cap & gown look anymore!
Graduations mark an exciting milestone in a person’s life. They represent the closing of one chapter and the beginning of one that’s brand new!
And while high school graduations can bring up a lot of different emotions, ranging from excitement (newly minted adults!) to sadness (parents facing empty nests!), they deserve to be celebrated!
So, to make grad party season a little easier, we put together this list of our favorite graduation gift ideas for high school girls.
Honor the turn of tassels with a stylish gift
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again:
Tassel jewelry is the “it” accessory of the summer!
As lightweight statement jewelry, tassel jewelry is both cute and comfortable. Girls everywhere are accessorizing with earrings, necklaces, and bracelets adorned by tassels! Our Tassel Collection offers a whole rainbow of graduation gift options following this trend.
For girls who like delicate or minimal jewelry, we recommend the Pink Crystal Spike & Pearl Tassel Necklace as a graduation gift.
Its pale pink and white hues pair well with a variety of outfits. And the semi-precious quartz spike and freshwater pearl make this necklace feel extra special to receive.
Speaking of semi-precious gemstones, we also love the Blue & Gold Druzy Teardrop Earrings as a graduation gift idea!
Most high school students only own costume jewelry. So a gift of high quality handmade earrings is a thoughtful way to mark a girl’s transition to adulthood. The sparkly crystal layer on the druzy gemstones contrasts beautifully with the smoothly faceted amazonite teardrops. It’s a look that she can dress up or down!
For girls who aren’t afraid to make a fashion statement, we recommend a brightly colored Tiered Tassel Necklace!
The Jewelry Shop currently stocks this gemstone-accented necklace in two colors, pink and green. But if you’d like a different color for your grad, just send us a note and we can create a custom design for you!
No matter what graduation gift you choose, the point is to make the graduate feel special. Recognize her accomplishments and give her a gift that will carry her confidently into her bright future!

Our Dusty Blue & Opal Bridal Headpiece sparkles under the cherry blossoms in this springtime photo session!
Here in Baltimore, Spring seems to be taking its sweet time arriving.
But despite the fact that we’re still having temperatures in the 40s, the cherry blossoms opened right on schedule. Thank goodness! So even though it doesn’t feel like spring, the plant life outside looks perfect for a spring wedding.
With the cherry blossoms as inspiration, I teamed up with a few fellow Baltimore area wedding vendors from TuesdaysTogether Catonsville to style this beautiful spring wedding photo session!
Our model for this cherry blossom bridal session was C’yana Tavae, a new friend who I met just a few weeks ago during the J’Adorn pop-up shop at Simple & Feminine in Ellicott City. She’s a Maryland native who won Miss Washington County 2018 and will be competing for the Miss Maryland title.
I’ll be sharing a bit more about the inspiration behind this bridal photo session and our team’s vision in a later post, but for now enjoy this selection of my favorite photos from Katherine Elizabeth Photography!

It’s the color of amethyst gems, February babies, and Prince.
With so many positive associations, it’s no wonder purple – or Ultraviolet, to be more specific – is taking center stage in fashion and design this year. It can be a bit intimidating to wear, though. Bright purple exudes confidence and boldness; it can easily become overstated.
So, that’s why I compiled this guide of three stylish ways to add a splash of Ultraviolet to your look in 2018!

Idea #1: Ultraviolet Clothing
Work attire & outerwear
Add a bold splash of color to a more neutral outfit with some violet outerwear. I love the sleeveless jacket/vest shown over an earthy ensemble on the left.
For a more coordinated look, build your outfit around the color purple. Softer, lighter tones pair well together in the outfit pictured on the right. Then you can wrap it up in a brighter coat to bring it all together!
Ultraviolet in casual wear
For an everyday look, try using ultraviolet as an accent color to muted grey-purples and textured jeans. Accessories and footwear are an easy way to add this color without investing in an entire new outfit.
Idea #2: Ultraviolet as a Hair Color

Whether it’s all over color or a few highlights to accent your natural look, purple hair is having a moment. Talk to your stylist about different options & commitment levels, from permanent all the way down to one-day hair chalk. One of my current favorites is a shampoo that deposits color while you wash in the shower.
Idea #3: Purple Accessories & Accenting Jewelry Colors
It should come as no surprise that my favorite way to incorporate this trendy color into your look is through jewelry and accessories. From your wedding day to everyday look, you can can add a pair of our sparkly purple druzy earrings to complete the ensemble. Or, if you’re already rocking an ultraviolet outfit, consider neutral-colored jewelry to help make the focal piece “pop.”

So, which styling idea is your favorite? Tell me about it in the comments! I can’t wait to hear how you’ll rock Ultraviolet in your own way!
