We recently had the honor of seeing an editorial shoot we contributed to earlier this year featured on the wedding blog, Burnett’s Boards. In this post we’re sharing a few of our personal favorite shots by Red October Photography from this cool, modern D.C. bridal shoot with gold and navy blue elements.
We especially love the way Tiffany of Simply Breathe Events chose to style the jewelry from our collection into a few different looks for the bridal model – and that amazing cake created by Evan of Sweets by E! Check out the full gallery, and let us know in the comments which part is your favorite.
One of the great joys I’ve had since founding J’Adorn Designs in 2012 has been the opportunity to reconnect with old friends right before one of the biggest days of their lives. This was the case with Kimberly – a friend of mine from high school with whom I’d only kept in touch via social media since our graduation. Interestingly enough, the groom also graduated high school with us (although they didn’t begin dating until after college), so designing this bridesmaids’ jewelry suite had an especially personal element for me as a designer. Kimberly’s family lived in France for a good portion of her childhood, an experience that clearly had an influence on her sense of style and elegant taste. While the bride opted to wear heirloom pieces on her wedding day, she commissioned me to design a varied but coordinated suite of custom jewelry for her bridesmaids. It was my great pleasure to create these special pieces for the women who stood beside her.
Many congratulations to Kimberly and Jesse! May the life you build together be just as beautiful as your wedding day.
As you may have seen on our social media pages, an important part of our local community was recently devastated by flash floods as a result of torrential rain and thunderstorms. Historic Ellicott City is a place where J’Adorn Designs has had gallery shows, photo shoots, meetings with clients, and countless personal experiences. Seeing it literally swept away in a matter of hours left us dumbfounded and heartbroken. The city is strong, though, and it has already begun to band together to begin the long process of recovery.
We are pleased to announce that this weekend we will be participating in a festival hosted by Gogo Guru, the Main Street yoga studio where our owner Alison Jefferies practices. We’ll be selling jewelry from our collection with 50% of proceeds to be donated to the Ellicott City recovery efforts. The festival will take place at Rockburn Park in Elkridge from 9:00-1:00pm this Sunday, August 15th, and will offer yoga classes, live music, food, a silent auction, a kids’ tent, massage chairs, and other local vendors, including J’Adorn Designs. Full details are available here.
If you can’t make it to the event, you can still purchase jewelry from our online shop all weekend long and 50% of proceeds will be donated to the cause. Whatever your availability this weekend, please join us in supporting this vibrant local community that has given us so much!
