In my last blog post where I wrapped up 2016 by sharing my Best 9 from Instagram, I alluded to some upcoming exciting news involving J’Adorn Designs and the Rising Tide Society. Well, today the wait is over and I am proud to finally announce:
I am leading Tuesdays Together Catonsville, a new local chapter of The Rising Tide Society!

A few questions you may have:
1. What is the Rising Tide Society?
The Rising Tide Society is an international movement for creative entrepreneurs and small business owners dedicated to educating and empowering creatives to thrive in the spirit of “Community Over Competition.” A movement dedicated to the people it serves, Rising Tide Society focuses on building community locally and transforming not only the creative industry, but also the world.
2. What is Tuesdays Together?
TuesdaysTogether is a meeting that occurs on the second Tuesday of every month for creative entrepreneurs and small business owners to meet in the spirit of community over competition and discuss industry-relevant topics. These meetings were created out of a need to connect with other people, share successes and struggles, and create long-lasting relationships with fellow creative entrepreneurs.
3. What is the purpose of Tuesdays Together Catonsville?
The main purpose of the Catonsville TuesdaysTogether group is to be a regular meeting place where local creative business owners can gather to support, encourage and collaborate with one another. Each month’s meeting will be geared toward a different industry-related topic.
Our TuesdaysTogether group will begin meeting in February 2017 with dates and locations shared in our Facebook group each month.
4. Who is TuesdaysTogether Catonsville for?
We are a society of creative entrepreneurs, men & women, from hobbyist to seasoned professional, usually gathering the second Tuesday of every month in the spirit of Community over Competition. Our meetings are open to everyone in the Catonsville area who fits this description!

- The opportunity to meet and connect with others in your area who understand the hustle involved in running a small business
- A welcoming environment where you can share, learn, and make new friends in your industry
- You’ll likely also get a big hug from me along with a cup of coffee or glass of champagne, depending on the time of day we’re meeting!
6. How can I get involved?
Joining is easy! Just head over to Facebook and request to join the Tuesdays Together Catonsville group. After you’ve been added, you’ll be able to participate in our online discussions. You’ll also be able to see where & when we meet each month!

The holiday shopping season is officially upon us!
It’s a flurry of anxiety, excitement, warm fuzzies, and sugar crashes over here. Anyone else? I’ve been hard at work in my studio stocking up my inventory of custom and modern jewelry to bring to the holiday markets I’m participating in this year. One such market – Shop Small Catonsville – is especially close to my heart simply because I’ve had the honor of co-planning it for the second year in a row! It’s an intimate open house style market highlighting a talented group of local makers with gifts for just about everyone on your holiday shopping list.
Check out all the details on our Facebook event page! And if you’re local, be sure to RSVP on the event page, invite a group of friends, and share it on your page too – the more the merrier! We’ll have plenty of warm drinks, cool music, unique gifts you won’t be able to find anywhere else made right in our community of Catonsville.
See you there, friends!
A special announcement from our studio:
Calling all stylish brides and bridesmaids in the D.C. metro area! J’Adorn Designs is pleased to announce our upcoming trunk show at Fabulous Frocks of Alexandria, featuring a select group of our couture bridal accessories. The event will run from Thursday, October 27th through Saturday, October 29th. Brides will have the opportunity to try on the accessories of their choice and place an advance order to be delivered to the shop a few weeks later for pickup.
If you are getting married and are still shopping for that perfect hair piece to match your veil, or a coordinated set of earrings to give to your attendants as a thank you gift, you won’t want to miss this exciting trunk show event!
Here’s why you won’t want to miss this trunk show!
Our show at Fabulous Frocks of Alexandria presents a unique opportunity for brides to see our accessories in person because our shop is primarily lives online. Take a moment and ask yourself…
- Have you had your eye on that one perfect hair comb, but hesitate to order it online because you don’t know how heavy it will feel?
- Are you an all-business bride who wants to choose your dress, veil, and jewelry all at once and get it done in one appointment?
- Are you curious about what sets J’Adorn Designs’ handmade accessories apart from the mass-produced jewelry you saw at that other bridal shop?
- Do you want to see, feel, and handle your wedding accessories before committing?
- Are you still searching for the perfect bridesmaids’ gifts for your girls to wear down the aisle?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this event is for you!
Here’s how to make sure you get in on the trunk show action:
To schedule an appointment to try on your favorite J’Adorn Designs jewelry and hair pieces with couture gowns, veils, and accoutrements, contact Fabulous Frocks of Alexandria.
We look forward to seeing you there November 27th-29th!
As you may have seen on our social media pages, an important part of our local community was recently devastated by flash floods as a result of torrential rain and thunderstorms. Historic Ellicott City is a place where J’Adorn Designs has had gallery shows, photo shoots, meetings with clients, and countless personal experiences. Seeing it literally swept away in a matter of hours left us dumbfounded and heartbroken. The city is strong, though, and it has already begun to band together to begin the long process of recovery.
We are pleased to announce that this weekend we will be participating in a festival hosted by Gogo Guru, the Main Street yoga studio where our owner Alison Jefferies practices. We’ll be selling jewelry from our collection with 50% of proceeds to be donated to the Ellicott City recovery efforts. The festival will take place at Rockburn Park in Elkridge from 9:00-1:00pm this Sunday, August 15th, and will offer yoga classes, live music, food, a silent auction, a kids’ tent, massage chairs, and other local vendors, including J’Adorn Designs. Full details are available here.
If you can’t make it to the event, you can still purchase jewelry from our online shop all weekend long and 50% of proceeds will be donated to the cause. Whatever your availability this weekend, please join us in supporting this vibrant local community that has given us so much!
