Featured Work :: D.C. Preppy Styled Shoot

View More: http://brittanybakerphotography.pass.us/styled-shoot

It’s finally here! As I promised in Monday’s teaser, today I’m posting a whole bunch of pictures from the preppy Georgetown styled shoot that recently featured my work. Check out these awesome photos by Kealy Creative and Brittany Baker Photography!

The theme of the day was preppy style in hues of navy, bright yellow, and grey. Models Tess and Amy were styled and accessorized in outfits according to this look. I love the way the Amelie Necklace looks with the open neckline on Amy’s white button down blouse. Here’s a closer look:

Black and white photos are the best as far as I’m concerned. 🙂

This bracelet is a navy blue version of the Jordyn Bracelet that I made specifically for this shoot. What do you guys think, should I make it available in the shop?

This picture might be my favorite of the whole bunch. The way the pearls of the necklace and bracelet frame the mason jar of lemonade is perfect!

PreppyCollage.jpgThanks so much to Carolyn and Brittany for including me in this beautiful photo shoot!

Sneak Peek: Preppy D.C. Styled Shoot

PreppyTeaser.jpg

I’m so excited to share this today! I’ve alluded on Facebook to a “special collaboration” I’ve been working on over the past few weeks, and today I’m giving you a sneak peek.

Two of my photographer friends, Carolyn Woods of Kealy Creative and Brittany Baker of Brittany Baker Photography, put together an adorably preppy styled shoot in Georgetown last week featuring some of my jewelry. I’ll be sharing more photos later this week, but couldn’t help but post this one in the meantime. I love the way Carolyn & Brittany styled my Pearl Stretch Bracelet in Classic and Amelie Necklace!

Autumn 2012 Lookbook

Earlier this season, I had the opportunity to do my first-ever photo shoot with the fabulous and talented Tiffany Lewis of Tiffany Lewis Photography. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to work with her again! (I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a wedding or portrait photographer!)

The above collage features a few of my favorite images from the shoot, but I’ve compiled all of the photos into an album on my Facebook page. which you can find here.  I hope you have as much fun checking out my Autumn 2012 Lookbook as much as I did putting it together. Let me know what you think, and what you’d like to see in the next round!

Xo and Happy Weekend, Ali

Custom Wedding Jewelry: Mallory + Jake

I had the pleasure of creating custom wedding jewelry for a number of beautiful couples and their bridal parties this past summer. It’s a side of my business that I really love, and I hope to develop it further as J’Adorn grows.

Mallory and Jake’s wedding in late July was a beautiful affair, and I was especially happy to contribute because Mallory has been a close friend of mine for nearly a decade. Mallory and Jake are electric together, and that quality flows from their deep love for one another and their shared passion for life & adventure. I loved collaborating with Mal to create an elegant, classic set of bracelets for her and her bridesmaids for their vintage travel themed wedding.

For Mallory’s bridesmaids, I created stretch bracelets with grey and ivory glass pearls. The grey pearls were slightly smaller than the ivory pearls to give the piece some visual interest within the simple design. These bracelets were all identically matching, with the exception of size (obviously those adorable junior bridesmaids had tinier wrists than the rest of the girls!)

Mallory’s bracelet was designed to match the bridesmaids’ without being completely identical. I used ivory glass pearls for her stretch bracelet and added some round sapphire crystals to coordinate with the navy blue bridesmaids’ dresses – and to serve as her “something blue!” I finished the piece with a silver “E” charm to symbolize her new last name.

The bracelet ended up matching the rest of Mal’s bridal jewelry perfectly, which was wonderful given the fact that I didn’t actually see any of it until the day of the wedding!

I loved the glamorous, classy style that Mallory chose for her wedding day and am honored to have had the opportunity to contribute.

Congratulations to Mal and Jake! May this beautiful day be only the beginning of your adventures together!

Xo,

Ali
