It was my first time making jewelry for a workshop gift as well as my first time attending a small business workshop. I had a blast learning to blog more effectively for my custom and modern jewelry business and am excited to share photos of my work and of the event with you all today!
As I always do for custom jewelry orders, I wrapped each pair of custom earrings in a hand-stamped drawstring muslin bag placed inside a paper box with a satin ribbon. Since the workshop was at the studio of Marigold & Grey – home of the bow-tying ninjas – I knew my ribbon bows had to be on point! I was over the moon when M&G founder Jamie gave me her stamp of approval.
I knew these custom earrings would be given to women with a variety of personal tastes. For this reason, it was important that the earrings I created were simple and versatile enough to match a wide range of styles. I chose to base the design off of the earrings from my Sweet Sentiments jewelry set from my pre-designed collection which features white Swarovksi pearls and Swarovski crystals in pink, emerald green, turquoise, or clear.
After Juli carefully laid the wrapped boxes of earrings around the room at the attendees’ seats, it was time to get to work and learn! The BYOB Workshop was a perfect mix of intensive learning, interactive workbook materials, expert guest speakers, and well-timed breaks with delicious food in an atmosphere that encouraged students to network with one another. The spirit of the room was one of community, genuine friendship, and mutual learning. As an attendee myself, I was especially impressed by the caliber and amount of knowledge that Juli was able to pack into one day of learning!
At the end of the workshop, we concluded the event with my favorite type of celebration: a champagne toast! You better believe I enjoyed every sip of that bubbly!
Juli sent all of her attendees home with a treasure trove of swag, both practically useful and purely for our enjoyment (custom cookies anyone?!). I was honored and proud to have my custom earrings be the focal point of the gifts she chose to give to her students.

Happy Friday, friends! Things have been pretty busy in my corner of the universe this week, so it’s been a bit quiet here on the blog. But I just got a new batch of photos from a wedding that I made custom jewelry for this summer and had to give you a glimpse! Today’s post is just a teaser; the full post will come next week.
Have a great weekend! I’ll be enjoying mine in Philadelphia, reuniting with a bunch of college girlfriends/soulmates. It’s just what the doctor ordered. See you all next week!
Xo, Ali
We’ll be spending Saturday, June 8, at Cotton & Co, a charming vintage boutique in Keymar Maryland (just next to Westminster, New Market and Taneytown). Shop & pop up event hours are 10am-5pm. Click here for full event information.
Be sure to bring your bestie along, too! Black Ankle Vineyards will be on-site doing complimentary tastings. Plus, Cotton & Co is a 100+ year old former grain mill that is now home to two floors of artisan and vintage dealers.
*We’ve even added a few new tassel colors (for the spring & summer) to our Tassel Bar that aren’t featured above*
Ali will be taking custom tassel orders and filling as many as she can on-site. What she can’t get to during the event will be completed during the following week and shipped out, free of charge! So, get your orders in early so you can wear your new earrings home!
The pieces from our new collection have been receiving a lot of love from so many of you on social media (we love your Insta-stories… keep ’em comin’!). But this will be their pop-up debut! Come be among the first to play dress up. And take home your favorite limited edition piece before someone else does!
Ooooh! You want a craft, too? Well, you got it! Cotton & Co is also hosting a Felted Wool Dryer Ball making class on Saturday from 12-2. And we have it on good authority that a few tickets are still available. Get them (and all the information) here!
Some highlights to check out:
So, if you’re a local business owner (think: boutique, salon, studio, coffee shop, etc.), TAKE NOTES! We want to partner with you and bring this fun and colorful experience to your venue.
For future events, we are working towards building the earrings on-site, so that those who place their orders early enough in the event will be able to take theirs home that day! Of course, building the tassels you design takes time and care, and if we’ve got a queue of orders, we may not be able to fill them all during the event. The early girl gets the jewels, as they say!
We’ve blogged about our Tassel Collections before in the spring and fall of last year, but this Tassel Bar Event is something totally brand new.
These tassels just inspire FUN. So, you can be sure that any future Tassel Bar event is going to be packed with exciting experiences!
Also, those Lemon Quartz Branch Earrings are another fan-favorite. And be sure to stay tuned to our social channels… you may see them popping up in a couple new colors soon!
Have a special color you’d like to see them in? Let us know in the comments OR contact us here!
Don’t live nearby? No sweat! We’ve got lots of beautiful tassel earrings in our online jewelry shop. And if you don’t see the color combination you’re dreaming of, let us know. We take the “custom” part of our brand very seriously!
And, local business owners, let’s work together to bring the fun to your venue! There are perks in it for you, too… just ask us!
