Looks for Life Fundraiser 2014

BasketPicLL14

For the second year in a row, I am giving to the Looks for Life Fundraiser at my favorite Maryland salon, Looks Salon.  Each year, Looks partners with Grassroots Crisis Intervention in Howard County, MD, to raise funds for suicide prevention services. In addition to a silent auction – which is where our jewelry set and gift card will be raffled off –  the salon sells advertising space at their hair styling stations to local businesses and holds an event with discounted salon and spa services with proceeds going to Grassroots.

As you may recall, suicide prevention is a cause that is especially close to me after losing my childhood friend and fellow artist Josh Hutchinson last spring. I consider it a privilege to give to an organization that works to restore hope and save lives, and am honored to think that my creative work could contribute to those efforts.

If you’re in the Howard County, MD, area please consider coming out to this event. You’ll get pampered for the day (at incredible prices!) and know that the money you spend benefits a worthy cause! Check out the photos of the jewelry and basket I designed after the jump!

Small Business Saturday

ShopSmallAdvert

I love being a small business owner and am so thankful to every one of you who makes it possible for me to do what I do. Now through Sunday night I’m offering 10% off all of the earrings in my shop, including 11 new pairs of stud earrings that are making their debut today, as a small token of my appreciation.  They make perfect stocking stuffers!

Happy shopping, and thank you for supporting small businesses like mine!

Upcoming Events :: Howard County Farmers’ Market

photo (19)Happy Friday, friends! It’s been a busy week here at J’Adorn – juggling bridal orders, making new pieces for my upcoming gallery show, and working through some hiccups with my wholesale supplier. There’s been a lot going on, but I’m pushing through and still having fun! That’s a sign you’re in the right line of work, right? 🙂

After a couple weeks away, I’m excited to be back at the Howard County Farmers’ Market again tomorrow. It’ll be at the usual place at the usual time – 9:00am to 12:30pm at the Glenwood Library. My lovely friend Melissa will be joining me at my table and likely modeling some jewelry. Come pay us a visit and pick up some fresh local food for the new week. See you there!

TGIF, friends! (Can I get an “amen”?)

Today I’m thrilled to announce an upcoming event for J’Adorn Designs that is also a first for me as a designer. My work has been selected to appear in a local art gallery!

Together with six other artists, I will be exhibiting a special collection of jewelry at the Perspectives Art Gallery in the historic district of Ellicott City, MD. The exhibition will run from October 4-December 29 with an opening night reception on October 4th from 5-9pm. Check out the invitation pictured above for more details. I’ll be posting pictures and more details as the show gets closer!

Xo, and happy weekend,
Ali

PS – Don’t forget to come see me at the Catonsville Arts and Crafts Festival on Sunday! I’ll be the one with the ridiculous smile.
